Your work is yours. You can pull a full backup of everything you've published any time, from Settings → Export in Forge.
The export gives you a ZIP file with:
- Every Canvas you've published or drafted, in its original format (text as Markdown + HTML, audio as the original upload, video as the source MP4, EPUB as the original file).
- Every transcript.
- Every Collection's definition.
- The Cut configuration.
- All Echoes left on your work (anonymized — no viewer identities).
- All earnings records as CSV.
The export takes a few minutes for small Vaults, longer if you have a lot of large media. You'll get an email with a download link when it's ready — usually within 30 minutes, sometimes a few hours for hour-long video archives.
The download link is good for 7 days. After that, request a fresh export.
Why we offer this:
- You should never feel locked in. If you ever leave Zayvay, the work goes with you.
- If something happens to a Canvas — accidental delete, corruption, anything — you have a recent backup as the safety net.
It's worth pulling an export every few months even if you don't plan on going anywhere. Treat it like backing up a computer.
