Two different things, both set when you create your Vault.

Vault name is your stage name. It appears at the top of your Vault, in the Directory, in search results. It can have spaces, capital letters, accents, punctuation — anything. Example: The Bald Explorer.

Vault slug is the URL. It only allows lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. Example: bald-explorer — making the URL vault.zayvay.com/bald-explorer.

The two don't have to match perfectly. Your slug is usually a shorter, cleaner version of your name.

A few rules on slugs:

  • Has to be unique on the platform.
  • Can't be a reserved word (no admin, no support, no Zayvay terms).
  • 3 to 40 characters.
  • Must start with a letter.

If your first pick is taken, Forge suggests close alternatives. Once published, changing your slug has a redirect cost — see Changing your vault slug before doing it.

Your real name is separate from both — set in profile, used only for identity verification and tax docs. See Profile and Vault are separate.
