Echoes are private viewer reactions, anchored to a specific spot in your work. They're the closest thing Zayvay has to feedback — and we kept them quiet on purpose.
To see Echoes on a Canvas, open the Canvas in Forge. The Echoes panel shows:
- Each reaction left, anchored to its paragraph (writing, ebook) or timestamp (ZIP, video).
- The viewer's display name.
- When they left it.
- The reaction type (moved, thoughtful, funny, disagree, etc.).
A few things to know:
- Echoes are not visible to other viewers. They're between you and the person who left them.
- A single viewer can only have one Echo per paragraph or timestamp. New ones overwrite old ones.
- Echoes count toward your dashboard's engagement number, but they're not part of any ZVR score we surface publicly. They're meant to be read, not measured.
You can reply privately to any Echo. Replies go to that viewer's dashboard. They don't get a notification storm — just a quiet line in their messages.
