The timeline editor lets you add interactive events at specific moments in a ZIP Canvas. It opens automatically when you create a ZIP, or you can reach it from the Canvas edit page.

The interface has three layers:

  1. Audio or video waveform at the bottom. Scrub to any moment.
  2. Event lanes above the waveform. Each lane is one kind of interaction.
  3. Inspector panel on the right — properties of the currently selected event.

Event types you can place:

  • Image swap — a still image appears in the player at that timestamp.
  • Slide — a captioned image, presentation-style.
  • Link card — clickable card with text and a URL.
  • Marker — labeled point with no visual, useful for chapter breaks.

To place an event: scrub to the moment, click the lane, click Add, fill in the inspector.

A few things worth knowing:

  • Events save as you go. There's no Save button on the editor.
  • You can drag events along the timeline to reposition.
  • You can preview by hitting Play — events fire at their timestamps.
  • The editor is desktop-first. It works on tablet, but the precision is harder on touch.

Events are part of the Canvas. They publish, unpublish, and edit alongside the audio or video.
