As you set targeting in the campaign wizard, Zayvay shows a live audience estimate — roughly how many eligible viewers currently match what you've chosen. It updates the moment you change a targeting field, so you can see the effect of each choice before you commit a budget.
The estimate counts viewers. A viewer is counted when they match every viewer-side filter you've set:
- Viewer verification — all viewers, registered and verified, or verified only. Junior accounts are always excluded.
- Viewer quality — your minimum ZVR tier, from Bronze through Onyx.
- Region — country, and state within the US.
- Age and household income — counted only for viewers who consented to share those fields. Narrowing on a consented field naturally shrinks the pool, because viewers who haven't shared it can't match.
Use it as a guardrail. If the number drops to zero or gets uncomfortably small, you've likely narrowed too far — loosen a constraint (wider region, lower tier, drop an optional demographic) and watch it recover.
Very small audiences show as "Fewer than 50." To protect viewer privacy, Zayvay never shows an exact count once a targeted slice falls below 50 eligible viewers — you'll see "Fewer than 50 eligible viewers" instead of a precise number. This keeps a narrow combination of filters from being used to single out or confirm an individual viewer. It's a display floor only; it doesn't stop you from running the campaign, though such a narrow audience will usually spend slowly or cap your reach. Loosen your targeting to get back above the threshold and see exact numbers again.
The audience estimate answers "how many people could see this?" The completion forecast answers "how many completions will my budget buy?" Read them together: a large audience with a small budget still spends slowly, and a small audience can cap how much you're able to spend at all.
